There are plenty of scenic walks through the woods and along the river Sienne. Also horse riding facilities are to be found in the local area. The beaches of Les Salines and Lingreville are just 20 minutes away, offering miles of unspoiled sandy beaches - ideal for young children.The swimming pool in nearby Villedieu-Les-Poeles has a slide, diving board and children's pool that makes an excellent alternative for rainy days.There are also pools at Coutances and Granville that offer different facilities. The highly recommended Zoological park at Champrepus is only 15 minutes away, on the Villedieu-Les-Poeles to Granville road, with beautiful gardens, picnic area and play park for children. 

The river Sienne flows through the town of Gavray and the village of Ver and is reputed to be an excellent site for course and trout fishing, licenses are available from the local water bailiff at a very reasonable cost. Ver also has tennis facilities, for use all year round, as does Gavray and there are very good golf courses in the Granville area.

The nearby town of Gavray has all conveniences including a large well stocked supermarket, butchers, bakers, pharmacy, banks and bars. There is a street market held in the square every saturday morning, selling fresh seafood, fruit, vegetables and local produce etc.

 Mont St. Michel is under an hours drive away and makes a wonderful day trip as do the Normandy landing beaches along with the many associated D-Day museums. There are also trips to Jersey for a day out shopping from St Malo, Granville and Portbail.

The area has many excellent restaurants including the nearby Auberge De Mesnil Rogues where local cuisine is prepared on open fires. The Hotel de la Gare is only 1 mile away, with good simple food and a la carte menu (highly recommended) and in Granville town, on the water front in the old port, are many sea food restaurants, serving, amongst others, fruits de mer, oysters, paella etc . Also in the marina at Granville are a large selection of excellent restaurants.
